The Panerai family has since a few days ago a new member who will accompany Radiomir and Luminor their collections; Due talk about the new Luminor, with the usual design of the Luminor case but with a substantial difference; a much finer box.
The new collection was presented last week in Florence, at the event organized by Dive into time signature, with four models, two with a box of 42 mm and two 45 mm box, available in steel and red gold. Both couples accounts with thick boxes 10.5 and 10.7 mm respectively. We can not talk about that are just extra-fine, but they represent a considerable height reduction compared to 1950 Luminor and Luminor collections, which range between 15 and 17 millimeters high.
The model of 42 mm, named Luminor Due 3 Days is available in steel (PAM00676) and red gold (PAM00677), it is by its size, the perfect alternative for dolls contained or for those looking for a Panerai “dress” which may come under the cuff, but without losing the classic sports signature style. Inside are the new P.1000 caliber, hand-wound mechanical movement entirely by material with a thickness of only 3.85 mm, with a power reserve of 3 days. The red gold version, as happens in models of 45 mm, mounts a skeletonized version of the same caliber, which can be seen through the sapphire glass bottom.
The model 45 mm Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic, is also present in steel (PAM00674) and red gold (PAM00675), and is very slightly thicker than the model 42 millimeters, but still, with 10.7 millimeters thick follows still quite thinner than current Luminor. The main difference from the smaller apart, logically model, its largest diameter, is found inside. ElLuminor Due 3 Days Automatic mounts the new automatic caliber P.4000 with micro-rotor eccentric tungsten and gold, depending on the version. In this model, the red gold version also features a skeletonized version of the movement.
The sandwich comes in black sphere for versions of steel and anthracite gray to red gold versions, both with satin finish sunray effect.
Regarding prices, the 42 mm models remain at 7,900 euros for the steel version and 21,500 euros for the red gold version, and 45 mm models amounted to 10,400 and 24,900 euros respectively.
The good; easier to carry, especially for those that the usual size Luminor collection was prohibitvo and more appropriate for a more formal context. The dog’; unexpected and only 3 bars (30 meters) Tightness (splash and little else, anything to get into the water with him) remaining functional sense of protector of the crown, and to a lesser extent, how rare it is us for now, think of an extra fine Luminor. But come on, it’s all about getting used to.
They hit stores in the third quarter of this year.
